The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James "Guy" Evans can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Ian and Rosemary Gardner

Ian and Rosemary became friends with Guy when we met him as a Benedictine Oblates (attached to Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon). We felt privileged in having known Guy better, particularly his kindness. Guy was a gentleman whose company we both enjoyed. He was an engaging person, with a great variety of interests. We enjoyed our exchanges about history with him. He also seemed to have maintained a balanced life. He was a church goer. In his church community of Saint John the Evangelist he was an active member; he really enjoyed being a member of his choir. He embraced the Catholic Faith at Saint John the Evangelist; this was so great for us; it was a rapprochement of ideas and ideals. He will be sorely missed. We also think of Karen, his wife, and their daughters, his support, and the family. May the Lord grant them peace and consolation in their sad loss.
