Condolence: To Karen & family, Guy will be forever in your hearts as the gentleman and story teller that he was and always will be. I have many memories of Guy and his fellow policeman that date back to 1972 when the 2 of them would stop by the Wine art store at 916 - 16 Ave NW. Guy was an avid beer and winemaker and one of the longest time members of Heritage Wine Guild. He contributed many hours to his hobby and to the Guild whenever and however he could. Guy could always be counted on to attend meetings, wine tastings, judgings and to submit entries for judging. He will be missed at Heritage Wine Guild gatherings and remembered with great respect and admiration as a gentleman in every aspect of the word. I am so pleased to have known him.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Guy's passing. I attend St.John the Evangelist, where I had the privilege of getting to know Guy. We would sometimes sit at the same table at brunch, and he would tell me stories about his time serving in the police force, and overseas. He was such a dedicated and cheerful fellow, always asking you how you were doing. I remember how much he loved history, and spoke passionately about how we need to appreciate it and learn from it. I will always remember this lesson.

Thank you Guy for the wonderful example, the captivating stories, and your lovely smile.

God Bless you and keep you forever. May His mercy envelop you and bring you eternal peace and happiness.

I will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet for Guy.

Condolence: I remember Guy J.C. Evans very well. I had just seen him about a year ago in front of the CIBC in Inglewood, and had a great chat with him. Very sad to see him go, as he was always optimistic, and always had a great story to share with you, each/every time you saw him. I know your family will have TONS of favorite memories/stories that he shared along the way, and that's what it's all about! I'm happy to say I knew such a great man!
I worked with Guy at CPS as well.

Condolence From: Ian and Rosemary Gardner
Condolence: Ian and Rosemary became friends with Guy when we met him as a Benedictine Oblates (attached to Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon). We felt privileged in having known Guy better, particularly his kindness.

Guy was a gentleman whose company we both enjoyed. He was an engaging person, with a great variety of interests. We enjoyed our exchanges about history with him. He also seemed to have maintained a balanced life. He was a church goer. In his church community of Saint John the Evangelist he was an active member; he really enjoyed being a member of his choir.

He embraced the Catholic Faith at Saint John the Evangelist; this was so great for us; it was a rapprochement of ideas and ideals. He will be sorely missed.

We also think of Karen, his wife, and their daughters, his support, and the family. May the Lord grant them peace and consolation in their sad loss.

Condolence: Guy was a dedicated volunteer for the Calgary Horticultural Society for many years. I met him when I began working at the Society in 2001 and enjoyed his many visits to the office and his entertaining stories. His expertise was put to great use each year as a judge at the garden competition along with his side-kick Roger and he was a cheery volunteer at other events as well. We will miss him. Our deepest condolences to his family.
