Memories

My memories go back many years.  My sons were little and you invited us to go on trips with you in your campertruck and we enjoyed hiking, swimming, visiting, feasting in the outdoors.  Good memories! Also our summervisits to your cabin at Chestermere Lake where we would be with you a number of days at a time.  We had many swims and the sailing was fun.  My young fellows at that time refered to the sailboat the "Kippboat", if we were too many people on one side we came close to the water and they found that a bit scary.  Also I remember George taking us for a sail and a sudden storm came up and we were forced to take refuge on the other side of the lake.   George also was very patient with me and he had good instructions, but I never mastered the skiing very well.  When you moved to the acreage in 1973 we had annual visits to your home there and enjoyed your company, walks in the rolling hills and the warm hospitality.  George would go to bed close to midnight, say Good Night to us and say I know you will stay up for a while yet, (I am the sister that has that reputation).  He, of course, would beat us by getting up earlier and then remarking how long he had to wait for his breakfast.   I regret not talking to George more about his scuba diving trips, as I know he was so experienced and took many photographs of the beauty in the sea world.   My loss!

Dear Sister Christine my deepest sympathy,  you will miss George so much and I hope you are comforted by knowing he is in the heavenly home.  You will be so well looked after by your children and grandchildren.

Dear Juanita and family, Mark, Carolynn and family, and Tim. My condolences to all of you for your deep loss.    You have all contributed to your fathers life in word and song and being such strong witnesses.  He was so proud of his family!  Your Dad was cared for so lovingly and I remember saying to your Mom that he has gone from one heaven into another, eternity.

We will see you all on Thursday.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Love sister and Tante Tante Marie-Luise
