(1945 – 2017)

It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, aunt, sister and wife, Kim Heang Lam, on November 5, 2017 in Calgary, AB.

Born and raised in Cambodia, Kim and her immediate family immigrated to Canada in 1979. With the help of loving parish members in Morden, MB, our family thrived. Soon after, We moved to Calgary a year later and mom’s extended family joined us in Canada in subsequent years.

Mom worked at Palliser Furniture and New Foods Classic for many years, enjoying the comradery and friendships she developed. Mom was a loved member & Sister-in-Christ of the Calgary Chinese Mennonite Church. During her life, she loved to laugh, babysit, garden, sew, cook family favorites, travel and spend time with her family. We fondly remember her wisdom, kindness, firm hand, generous heart and how her smile could lift our hearts.

She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Hawk Kwong; three children, Linda (Sheldon Corrigan), Wonh Chieh and Richard, along with two sisters, three brothers, nieces and nephews with their respective families. Mom was predeceased by her parents, an older sister and newborn son.

A Visitation will be held at Choice Memorial (#105, 4715-13 St. NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Funeral Service will be held at Crossroads Community Church (912 19 St NE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November, 18, 2017, at 9:30 am, followed by a Graveside Service at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery (243208 Gardens Rd, Rocky View County).

In lieu of flowers, please forward memorial contributions to the Canadian Red Cross (http://www.redcross.ca/) or your preferred charitable organization.
