Obituary for Colleen Eva Worlidge (MacMillan)

Colleen Eva Worlidge (MacMillan)
Worlidge, Colleen Eva (née MacMillan)
Nov 9, 1931 - July 4, 2017

It is with great sadness the family of Colleen Worlidge announces her passing after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease on July 4, 2017 in Calgary at the age of 85 years. Despite her illness, Colleen relentlessly loved dogs, butterflies, dancing, music, and junk food (especially humbugs!). She used to model, teach dance, and breed and show dogs. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was a terrible flirt, both of which she combined in her often-heard impression of Mae West. She will be missed tremendously.

Colleen will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Sher Broeders and Beth (Ronald) Brown (Windsor, ON); her son-in-law Michael Broeders; her grandchildren Kurtis (Andrea) Broeders, Alexandra Broeders (Nick Burns), Jennifer Lachapelle, Jeff Lachapelle; and her great-grandchildren Simone Ryall, Jack Ryall (Windsor, ON) and Paige Broeders. Colleen was predeceased by her husbands Ronald (Scotty) Gilmore, John Worlidge (Brampton, ON), and Tom Cameron (NS/ON); her son, Darrell Scott Cameron; her sister Sally Roberts (Keith, Crystal Beach, ON); and her brother Robert MacMillan (Rita, New Glasgow, NS).

Interment will take place privately at Mountain View Memorial Gardens with a celebration of her life at National on 10th (341-10th Avenue SW) on Saturday July 15th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Those who so desire may make a memorial donation in memory of Colleen to the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary at CanadaHelps.org (Business Number: 130725740RR0001). The family would like to thank the staff at Beaverdam Lodge and especially at Monterey Place for their care and kindness. You are very special people!
