Obituary for Mario Spaziani

Mario Spaziani
SPAZIANI, Mario
October 30, 1955 – January 13, 2018

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Mario Spaziani, beloved husband of Patrizia. Our “Super Mario” fought a long and courageous battle with cancer for the past nineteen months, never giving up and always living life the way he chose until he passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday January 13, 2018.

Mario was born in Sezze, Latina, Italia. He immigrated to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in December 1971 with his youngest brother and mother to join the rest of his family. He met the love of his life Patrizia whom he married in 1979 and they have called Calgary home ever since. Mario and Patrizia have shared 38 wonderful years together. They were blessed with four daughters, Filomena, Gabriella, Loriana and Antonella. His greatest joy and the centre of his life were his 8 grandchildren, and he was looking forward to the birth of his ninth grandchild. Mario was an unselfish man who always put his family, friends and even strangers first, always giving anything he had. Mario’s passions were his Trans-Am, welding, creating and inventing contraptions to help with everyday life, gardening, hunting and spending time with his grand-children. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. Mario is survived by his wife, Patrizia; four children, Filomena (Adam), Gabriella (Jordan), Loriana (David), and Antonella (Jullien); his grandchildren, Alessia, Cristiano, Matteo and Marica, Luca, Marcello and Massimo, and Avalina and Camilla. He is also survived by his brothers; Giuliano (Fernanda) Spaziani of Italy and Pasquale (Maddalena) Spaziani of Germany and his sisters, Leda Covelli and Linda (Attilio) Timotini of Edmonton, Rina Spaziani and Giovanna Spaziani (Nazareno Venditti) of Italy; his sister-in-law Adriana (Alessandro) Spaziani and mother-in-law Filomena Noce of Calgary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends and extended family. Mario was predeceased by his grand-daughter, Angelina, his mother and father, Cristina and Giuseppe Spaziani, his brothers Ferdinando and Domenico Spaziani, nephew Giuseppe Spaziani, brothers-in-law Luigi Gneo and Enrico Covelli, sister-in-law Cleonice Spaziani and his father-in-law Italo Noce.
