Obituary for Sarah Elizabeth Schellenberg

Sarah Elizabeth Schellenberg
Sarah Schellenberg
August 2nd, 1996 - Saturday, August 19th, 2017

On Saturday, August 19, 2017 we tragically lost our sweet princess, Sarah Elizabeth Schellenberg who was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She had a heart that was big enough to share with everyone and she touched the lives of many everywhere she went.

Sarah was born on August 2nd, 1996 in Nelson, British Columbia where she spent most of her childhood. She always had an overly caring personality and was deeply empathetic, even as a young child. As Sarah got older she travelled and lived in many different places throughout BC, Alberta and Quebec. She was an independent and strong woman who loved serving those around her. On May 27, 2017 Sarah and her Fiancé Chance welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Namaia. We saw Sarah grow into an amazing mother who fiercely loved her sweet baby., We are forever grateful to have a little piece of Sarah living on through her daughter. Sarah left behind a grieving family; fiancé Chance Corbett, daughter Namaia, mother Michelle Schellenberg, father Dimitrios Papanikolopoulos, step-father Joe Schellenberg, sisters Georgia and Angela, brothers Zachary, Cody, Dimitri and Jonathan, grandparents Jim & Judy Robertson and Peter & Gertrude Schellenberg, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Black Diamond Gospel Chapel (212 Centre Avenue West, Black Diamond, AB) on Friday, September 1st, 2017 at 11:00 am followed by a light lunch. There will be a celebration of life dance in honour of Sarah, at the Turner Valley Legion (121 Sunset Blvd. East, Turner Valley) from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm that Friday evening as well. We ask that those attending refrain from wearing black, but instead wear something fun and bright, just like Sarah’s dynamic personality.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a drug outreach program in your community in Sarah’s honour.

Sarah, our Princess, we will always carry your memory in our hearts
