Remembering Marjorie.

Remembering you, dear Marjorie, We are very sorry that we have not had the opportunity to meet again, one last time! Our plan was to visit you within a couple of years! The distance was naturally always a point. But I am so sorry I did not write to you these last years. But you know how those things go, there never seems to be a right moment. I want to apologize for that, even if it's too late! A very long time ago, you came to Holland with my cousin Rick and his wife Sharon, and we had the pleasure of having to spend a week with all of you in Austria. What a lot of fun we had there, it was a super vacation! We think that you also enjoyed it very much. Then a few years later you spent another three weeks in Holland, this time at our home, and again with your friends, Rick and Sharon. That time your daughter Sharon, also came over for a couple of days, which was really great. We tried to show you all a bit of our small country! We enjoyed all of your company so much. Marjorie, you told us so many lovely stories during that time, some of them really funny, and some of them sad. Not always an easy life. We understood each other, I think. But the optimistic, intelligent woman you were, and our talks in my kitchen, I (Marijke) will never forget! When we heard you had become the mayor of Turner Valley, that was really wonderful to hear! We had the chance of visiting you at your hometown. When we arrived you were not there, as the mayor, you had an important meeting/appointment in Calgary on the occasion that Queen Elisabeth was visiting Canada! But the same evening we met, had dinner together, and had breakfast with you and the whole bunch the next morning, which was so nice! After we were back home, we kept in touch, not that much, but just enough to keep track of how our lives went. You were so proud of your kids, and especially also of your grandchildren and frequently sent me pictures of them. Marjorie, it was an honor to have known you, thank you for the time you spent with us! Rest in peace! In loving memory, Marijke and Lambert Jorissen, Mark and Debbie Jorissen and their families, Eindhoven, Holland
