Obituary for Cheryl Janice Henschel

Cheryl Henschel
November 6th, 1958 - August 20th, 2018

Cheryl Henschel passed at the Foothills Medical Centre on Monday, August 20, 2018 after battling cancer.

Cheryl was born on November 6, 1958 in Edmonton, Alberta. From an early age she knew she wanted to help others and that is exactly what she did! She Graduated from the University of Calgary with a Masters in Social Work with a clinical specialization. Cheryl worked for Alberta Health Services in the Mental Health sector right up until her diagnosis.

Cheryl was the most selfless and altruistic person anybody could have known. She was also one of the most intense people anybody could have known. That being said she used this intensity to advocate on behalf of clients or anybody that could not advocate for themselves. She did a lot for many individuals and this compassion will be sorrily missed by many.

Cheryl is survived by her two sons whom she readily talked about, Ethan and Davis. She is always loved and will be forever missed and always remembered for the positive lasting impressions she had in this world.
Ethan and Davis want to give a special thanks to Sharona, Cheryl’s Family physician, and all the Staff at Tom Baker Cancer, especially, Unit 47 for helping her right up until the end.

A Memorial Service will be held at Choice Memorial (105-4715 13th Street NE) on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm. You are encouraged to wear bright colours. Parking is available on the North side of the building, as well as on the street.
