Condolence: I am stunned to learn of Allan's passing only today. Such a caring, interested man who made every person feel special and worth knowing. The many tributes here echo my own experiences with Allan - his impish smile, his easy conversation, his natural way of remembering everything discussed. Allan was a bright light in a busy day --- a caring and treasured member of the Garrison Woods community. I counted him as a friend, so many laughs shared over the years. My grandson, Elliot, "three - turning four" asks about Allen, who always knew how to chatter with a little guy about Star Wars. We miss you Allen. Rest in Peace, Friend.

Condolence: I met Allan at Safeway over ten years ago when I was pregnant with my first daughter... my two kids have grown up knowing him, asking for his checkout line and anticipating his jokes and hugs. He will be so missed by the community and especially our family. Rest in peace, Allan.

Condolence: I was shocked to hear of Allan's passing. I too knew Allan from Safeway. We too tried to go to his checkout, always had a great conversation with us. Always interested in our lives. He was certainly taken too young. We will miss his smile, laugh and caring nature. Our condolences to Allan's family.

Condolence: Allan had the gift of making you feel special - always asked how my aging parents were doing. I always looked for his line at Safeway- and was a little disappointed when he wasn't there. He is missed. I find the Bible's hope so comforting - that when we die we are asleep in the safest place possible - in God's memory - awaiting a resurrection to a paradise earth under God's loving rulership. I await the time when I will see him again.

Condolence: Allan, you will be missed. Your smile and friendly conversation was always a bonus when grocery shopping. You asked about my girls even when they weren't there. It felt like you cared and it brought a smile to my face.
Rest In Peace.

Condolence: My family was very sad to hear this news. Although we didn’t know Allan’s last name until this recent event, we certainly knew his first name and his family should know that he left a lasting imprint on our entire neighbourhood. Although not part of the job description, Allan went over and above at Safeway to know and chat with his customers and create a neighbourly culture. He always asked about my kids, our travels, our life. He was a very caring person and he will be missed. Condolences to his family….

Condolence: We are grateful to have been blessed with Allan as a part of our community. His smile, positive attitude, and genuine interest and care for us every time we went to get groceries turned a chore into a visit with a friend. He watched our girls grow up, and asked about them when they weren't around. No matter what was happening in his life, he always had a smile and a story to share. Ash says he was a ray of sunshine every time we went to Safeway. Syd liked that he always said hello when we came in, no matter how busy he was. He is missed already.

Condolence: To Allan's family
We would always pick Allan's line at safeway. He was always friendly and kind and ready to ask about our day. And he was soooo nice to our kids, always making them feel important and worth talking to. And when I didn't have my kiss with me he would ask how they were doing. When I told our 9 YO son about his passing, he immediately got tears in his eyes and said "Allan? He was so nice. He was my favourite at Safeway" He really did light up the humdrum of grocery shopping and we will really miss him. We are so sorry for your loss. Please know he made a difference in our day.

Condolence: To Allan's Family,

We are so sorry for your loss. Allan was always so friendly and kind, and often the highlight of a trip to our local Safeway.

Sad to think that we won't be able to see how friendly smile again at the store or at our Christmas Open House.

Allan, you will be sorely missed.
