Obituary for Jane Olive Rahilly (Eddy)

Jane Olive Rahilly (Eddy)
Rahilly, Jane Olive
October 15, 1920 – November 8, 2017

Jane Olive Rahilly, long-time resident of Calgary and former unit manager at the Calgary General Hospital, passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 8, 2017 at Rockyview General Hospital at the age of 97.

Born in Sault Ste-Marie, Ontario on the 15th of October 1920, Jane was a graduate of Havergal College. In 1941, she married Donald Hugh Rahilly (1920 - 2009) also of Sault Ste-Marie. Following the end of WWII, Jane and Donald eventually moved to Toronto with their four small children in 1954 before finally taking up permanent residency in Calgary in 1964.

Jane was a founding member of Saint Laurence Anglican Church in the Lakeview area of Calgary and was active in volunteering at many charitable activities, including Meals on Wheels, which she carried on with well into her late 80's.

A selfless and dutiful person, Jane cheerfully focused her attention on those in need and it was a passion she carried on with as long as her health permitted. She is survived by her sons Don Jr, William, Brian (Christine) and daughter Kim (Glen) Bell; grandchildren Russell Williamson, Alison Gash, Justine, Jeanne and Kloe Rahilly; and by her many great grandchildren in both Calgary and Montreal.

We pray that we may always be united through faith and love.

Memorial Service will be held at St. Laurence Anglican Church (5940 Lakeview Drive SW) on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 1:30 pm.
