Richter, Rita Marie
It is with great sadness we announce that surrounded by her loving family, Rita Marie Richter peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 after a courageous and tough fought battle against cancer at the age of 56 years. Rita lived her life with great passion and tenacity and made each moment of every day count. She was a member of school councils where her children attended school and an active member of her parish. Rita always added joy to any room she entered and left everyone she met feeling better about themselves. Rita will forever be lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband of 28 years, Stephen and their precious children, Jordan, Emily and Adam. Rita will also be lovingly remembered by her dear mother, Marguerite Berube; her brothers, Louis, Leo (Nicole), Philip (Monica) and Rene (Charlene); her extended family including her mother-in-law, Donelda; brothers-in-law, Brian (Eunice) Ron (Karen) Dave (Patti) and Tim and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita also leaves behind countless friends. Rita was predeceased by her father, Ernest Berube.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Rita’s life on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 541 Silvergrove Dr. N.W. with the Rev. I'm so saddened by Rita's death. She was so full of life and so beautiful both inside and out. Stephen, I don't know how to express myself having felt a horrible loss like this so recently but please know that I'm thinking of you and Rita. I'll say prayers and hope for some comfort to come to you and your children. Love Sherry

Hello Stephen I hope you remember me, I am your great Aunty Edith Molzans daughter we met at your uncle Waldemars funeral. I was so deeply saddened to hear of your wife's passing. I am so sorry also for the hard time you have had leading up to this. My heart aches for you, you are too young to have to go through such sadness. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love Donna

It was profound sadness that I heard Rita lost her battle with cancer. She was truly a loving and fully engaged force of nature. The full sanctuary at St Stephens was an apt testimony to her far-reaching inclusiveness. I first met Rita as my Isagenix rep. She was in my kitchen giving a demonstration when her phone buzzed - a reminder to pick up her youngest at school. Rita's dedication to her family showed up time and again in the ways she so seamlessly worked her various commitments to accommodate her primary commitment: her family. Rita then came into my life through Deeksha meditations on Thursday night. We all loved giving and receiving deeksha to this profound soul. Her profound love of God was an inspiration. As I sat listening to the beautiful (and funny) eulogies to Rita I realized that the overwhelming feeling in the church was one of love. Rita would have appreciated that we came together and honoured her life by loving her completely and being able to share in love at her final good-bye. My heartfelt condolences and love to the Richter and Berube families. Gabriole Wilson
