Obituary for Yuriy Voytkiv
17 серпня 1960 р. у Львові народився Юрій Войтків . Ріс , як і всі діти , веселим і радісним хлопчиком . Ще будучи школярем , любив спорт . Це й вирішило його подальшу долю - інститут фізхкультури .
Ще будучи в школі співав у хорі “ Дударик “ . І любов до співу було найбільшим покликанням . Так Юра поступив у Львівську консерваторію по класу вокалу .
Після закінчення став солістом військового ансамблю пісні і танцю Прикарпатського округу . Багато гастролював по Европі .
21 рік тому емігрував до Канади в Калгарі . Працював на різних роботах але основна робота була вчитель вокалу в музичній школі .
Багато ще міг зробити , але раптово все зупинилось …….
Yury Voitkiv was born on August 17, 1960 in Lviv, Ukraine. He grew up, like all children, a cheerful and joyful boy. While still a schoolboy, he loved sports. This decided his fate at the Institute of Physical Education. While still at school, he sang in the "Dudaryk" choir. For Yury, his love of singing was the greatest vocation. This led Yury to enroll at the Lviv Music Conservatory in vocal class. After graduation, he became a soloist for the military song and dance ensemble of the Carpathian District. He toured many places in Europe with this music group. Twenty-one years ago he emigrated to Canada, to the city of Calgary. He worked at various jobs, but his main job was as a vocal teacher at a music school. He could have accomplished so much more, but suddenly everything stopped…….
