Obituary for Wilmer Horace Mack
MACK, Wilmer Horace
1931 – 2022
With much sadness, the family of Wilmer Mack announce his sudden passing on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the George Boyak Centre in Calgary, AB at the age of 91 years.
Wilmer (also known as MACK) will be missed and forever loved by his wife of more than 64 years, Myrtle (nee Bellamy); daughters, Tanya and Deanne; grandkids, Myles Mack and wife Tara; great grandson, Kassian; sisters, Vernice, Ramona, and Sandra; brothers, Lynol, Gilbert Gary and, Cyril; as well as many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Bertha Mack; son, Darwin Mack; brothers, Allister and Bervin; and sister, Sharon.
Wilmer was born in and grew up in Kelvington, Saskatchewan where he worked on the family farm alongside his 10 brothers and sisters. It was in another small town not far away that he met the love of his life, Myrtle where they married and moved to Calgary to start a new life. He worked for the Calgary Board of Education (Grounds Department) for over 36 years during the day, and then worked nights doing janitor services alongside his wife Myrtle.
When he was not working his passion was gardening and doing projects around the house. Although he was known as a perfectionist (especially when it came to his yard) he lived a simple life and enjoyed simple pleasures, always had a smile on his face, talking and joking with whoever would listen and spending time with his family.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to Choice Memorial for looking after Wilmer’s final arrangements.
