Obituary for Willy Neema

Neema, Willy
It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Willy Neema in Calgary, AB, on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the age of 22 years old.

Willy was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on November 26, 1996. He attended Lester B Pearson High School in Calgary, AB. He is the second of six beloved children to Mbona Yagabo and Alphonsina Bamvunyaki. Willy was working as a Line Cook at the Rec room while attending CDI College for computer and technology. He was deeply committed to Football and improving himself in everything he did. When Willy took an interest in something, he gave himself to it enthusiastically and completely. This included football, rugby, wrestling and basketball. He had a passion for art, sketching, drawing and video games. Willy’s most memorable vacation was when he went back home to Congo, Goma with his family.

Willy was a completely unique individual. He had his own style and way of doing things. He had a big personality. He was calm and very kind. He lived large. Willy loved his family and particularly his younger brothers Vincent and Junior. He will be most remembered for his contagious smile, wonderful sense of humour, caring nature and his ambition to strive for the best. We loved him deeply and are very proud of the man he was.

Willy is survived by his parents, Mbona Yagabo and Alphonsina Bamvunyaki of Calgary, Alberta; his younger brothers, Vincent Bahati and Junior Amani; his older sister, Alliance Maombi; younger sisters, Joly Zawadi and Yvette Bora of Calgary, Alberta as well as numerous extended family and friends.
