William E.L. Stender (Bill), age 79, passed away in the early hours of 28th February 2022 in Calgary Alberta after a short battle with Leukemia. William was born in 1942 in Regina Saskatchewan and grew up surrounded by his large family.

Bill will be missed by his loving wife of 55 years Brenda L. Stender (Petzel); children, Wade and Cheryl (John Philson); grandchildren, Zachary and Laila Philson; brother, Bruce Stender; three sisters, Darlene Winter, Sharon (Adri Vandeven) and Helen Stender; sister-in-law, Violet and her husband, Barry Dauncey as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William Ferdinand (Fred) Stender and Alma Stender (Smeltzer); brothers, Robert (Bob) Stender (Anita) and Herbert (Bert) Stender (Star); mother-in-law, Eva Petzel (Schiissler); and father-in-law, Wilfred Petzel.

Bill loved and enjoyed spending time with all his family, drives in the country counting the cattle and horses, fishing & hunting and at his request his ashes will be scattered in the mountains with a future Private Memorial.
