I was a colleague of Wendy's at the Rockyview Hospital urology department for 11 years, I also knew Wendy from her years as President of UNA local 121. She was a staunch supporter of the rights of nurses and bravely defended those rights at a local level. I considered her a friend and continued to attend small group lunches with Wendy and other colleagues about once a month over the past few years since retirement. It was sad to see all the health issues Wendy encountered but she was always dressed up and cheerful at our outings. My heart goes out to her family and friends at this very sad time. Keep her close in your hearts and she will always be with you,

As I have known Wendy all my life, we have had many special times together. Before moving to Calgary, Wendy and I used to go to the European Health Spa four times a week. On Saturdays after our workouts, we would go to the heath deli that was attached to the building and have lunch together along with a fruit smoothie. Those were great times we both remembered fondly and just spoke of them a couple of weeks ago. She wasn't just a sister, she was a good friend. I will miss her so much.
