Wayne Guenther
November 21, 1956 - March 18, 2021
Wayne passed away at the age of 64 years on March 18, 2021 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. The absence of Wayne will be felt by his beloved wife of 34 years, Mel; children, Brendan (Heather), Amanda (Mark); grandchildren, James and Madeline; siblings, many nieces, nephews and coworkers. Wayne is predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Katherina Guenther; brother, Leonard and sisters, Annie, Betty and Anne.
Wayne was humble, clever, and kind. He loved cooking, reading, copious amounts of coffee and was always on top of current events. Wayne had a love for music that led him to a career in radio for over 19 years, followed by a career in automotive IT. Wayne was recently promoted to his most treasured job yet, grandfather. “Papa Wayne” was hard working, full of humour and thoughtfulness.
The loss of Wayne will leave an immeasurable sadness in all those blessed to have known him. We wish to thank the amazing and compassionate staff at Foothills Hospital unit 47 and Dulcina Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations, in Wayne’s memory, to Dulcina Hospice.
