In Loving Memory
Višnja Jurković
October 12, 1972 – May 4, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce that Višnja Jurković, our cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin closed her tired eyes forever on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at the age of 50 years.
Višnja is lovingly remembered by her mother, Julijana; sisters, Suzana and Marijana; nephew, Ivan; niece, Vesna; aunt, Elizabeta; cousins, Maria (Michael) Binnion and children, Marc, Julianna and Cristina; Martin (Ilona) Jurkovic and their son, Marko; Julia (Ivica) Dermanovic and their children, Victor, Katarina and Ana; and Johnny (Bozana) Jurkovic and their children, Nikola and Marija; as well as other relatives and friends in Canada, the United States, Croatia, Austria, Sweden and Germany. She was predeceased by her father, Nikola, in 2021.
Born and raised in Calgary, Višnja was devoted to her family and was an active member of the Croatian community from an early age. Led by her love of her heritage, she moved to Zagreb, Croatia in 1991 where she attended University (Filozovski Fakultet) and worked for the Ministry of Defence before returning to Canada. Her many interests included making lasting memories with her family and friends, history, literature, music, dancing, traveling and fashion. She had a deep empathy for others and was fiercely loyal to the people that were blessed to know her.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 4:00 pm at the Croatian Catholic Parish “Our Lady of Marja Bistrica” (14680 Deer Ridge Drive SE, Calgary, AB).
