Obituary for Vasile Naum
Vasile Naum
October 29th, 1942 - January 12th, 2023.
Vasile (aka Paul) Naum, beloved husband of Roxana of Calgary, passed away at Dulcina Hospice on January 12th, 2023 at the age of 80 years and 2 months.
Vasile was born in Bucharest, Romania to Vasile and Elena Naum, a Christian Orthodox family. He graduated from the Navy Academy in Constanta, RO and became a Ship Master /Captain. For 25 years, he sailed all over the world commanding cargo ships and large crews that he successfully and safely always brought home. Being a Ship Captain brought him joy and allowed him the opportunity to have many adventures visiting interesting places and experiencing local food and cultures. Later in life, he became a well known and respected Petroleum Inspector.
In his spare time, he loved the arts whether listening to classical music or opera or enjoying attending concerts or theatre with Roxana.
His pride and joy was spending time with family. He was a wonderful and loving husband to Roxana. He was her rock through thick and thin and the strong man you always turn to for help. He loved preparing a good BBQ for family gatherings. He also loved spending time on the water with Diana/ Russ and family and sharing boating tips and tricks. And, most of all, he loved spending time with his grandkids, Maddy and Shawn, whether helping to take care of them when babies or having conversations and providing decades-old advice.
He was the loving father to Diana Wolfe and her husband Russ Wolfe of Calgary.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Maddy and Shawn Wolfe of Calgary;
his niece and nephew Letitia and Sorin Stancu and their parents Mariana and Mugur Stancu of New Jersey.
