Obituary for Troy Allan Pretty

Troy Allan pretty
Thursday, March 10, 1977 – Wednesday, June 12, 2019

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, father and friend at the tender age of 42 years.

Troy was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and attended AE Cross Junior High and Ernest Manning High School. Troy enjoyed all types of sports but especially hockey and he loved to watch and play the game of golf. He had an infectious smile, a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. Troy was very artistic and if you put a pen and paper in his hand, his creative juices flowed. His amazing gift transferred over to his profession as a welder where he continued to excel with a welding arc and stick.

Troy will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his mother Marilyn (David), father, Jack (Joy), brother Trevor (Gwen), and sister Tina (Donovan), nieces and nephews, countless friends and the love of his life, little Lucy. (Troy and Jolene Peters 3-year-old daughter).

On behalf of the Pretty family, we wish to extend a thank you to: Kamloops RCMP, Constable Christy, Coroner, Andy Cave, for his kind and gentle demeanor and a special thank you to Brandt Industries, Manager Heather S. and Foreman Jim for their kindness, compassion and support.

A Private Visitation and Reflection will take place for close family and friends. To view and share photos, condolences and stories of Troy, please visit www.choicememorial.com.

“His Journey’s Just Begun”
Don’t think of him as gone away
His journey’s just begun,
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of him as living
In the hearts of those he touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And he was loved so much.

A Love Letter to My Son
You were the first to come into my world,
And you are the first to go out.
You were loved and nurtured throughout your whole life,
But on June 12th, God decided to take you in the night.
I’ve cried and I’ve cried, calling out your name,
But you don’t answer, so it’s just not the same.
My heart aches but I must remain,
Your brother and sister need me,
And now the family must re-arrange.
Go rest my sweet baby, my first boy,
Knowing you are at peace, brings me sweet joy.
