Terry Helen (Fillmore) Parsley
February 14, 1947 – February 5, 2021
Terry, beloved Mother, Nanny, Great Nanny, Auntie, sister and friend passed peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the age of 73.
Terry was born on Valentine’s Day in 1947, which was fitting because she had the biggest heart and most loving, generous soul. She radiated joy to those around her leaving many feeling blessed to have met her.
Over the past few years Terry courageously battled a multitude of health issues and setbacks but faced them head on with dignity, grace and a strength that left many in awe. Her amazing outlook on life, focusing on the positives and downplaying or dismissing the negatives were inspiring. She rarely complained even though she had every right to and was always looking for ways to help others around her. Throughout her life, Terry was blessed with meeting wonderful, amazing people who she made fast friends with, friendships she treasured and cared for deeply. Terry was recently diagnosed with cancer but was not ready to throw her hand in and was prepared to fight yet another battle.
Terry loved spending time with her close-knit family and friends, going on road trips (no matter how short or long), and getting the best snuggles from her cherished grand pups, Oreo, Ebony and Heather. She was a master at puzzles of any size, word searches kept her busy as did, colouring and playing cribbage (which she often won effortlessly and to many a disgruntled opponent).
Terry is survived and forever cherished by the loves of her world, her daughter/best friend, Suzi (Ray); grandsons, Scott (Sara) and Ryley, as well as her great grandson, Sterling. She will also be mourned and remembered fondly by her sisters, sisters-in-law, brother, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Terry will be truly missed by her dear friends, too numerous to name, but you know how much she treasured your friendships right until the end.
In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask you to honour Terry by spending and surrounding yourself with those you love, as much and as often as you can. Hug them tighter, call them without prompting and tell them how much you love them every time you talk to them. Don’t put off for tomorrow, what you can do today because tomorrow is never guaranteed, and love should never have to wait.
