June 10, 1991 – April 11, 2022
Taylor James “TJ” Van Pelt passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 30.
TJ will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathryn Preston; his parents, Stacey Van Pelt (Shannon Pickerl) of Calgary and James Van Pelt (Elizabeth Mihaly) of Strathmore; siblings, Joshua Van Pelt, Brennan Van Pelt (Rachel Nbembe); aunts and uncles, Lisa and Bruce McDonald, Kari and Cameron Wheatley, Kim Roman (Denis Poelzer), Rick and Bernice Van Pelt, John Van Pelt and Patty Lane, cousins, Jackson, Amanda, Alexandra, Lyndsay, Joel, Madison, Taylor, Nathan, Asher and Raina; grandparents, Marianne Roman and William Nouwens; as well as many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, George Roman, Rhonda Van Pelt, and Arthur Van Pelt.
TJ was born in Calgary and spent his life in Southern Alberta. He had a lifelong love of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He spent his youth playing the bass guitar and developing friendships that lasted through his life. TJ spent his life with his childhood sweetheart, Kathryn and their chihuahua, Eddie. He loved life as a funny, kind and gregarious husband, son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend.
He was very proud of his accomplishments as an Electrician and was working towards becoming a journeyman.
TJ was greatly loved and will be terribly missed by all that knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations in memory of TJ to either FurEver Homes Rescue or to Alpha House (Direct to DOAP Team).
A Celebration of TJ’s Life will be held on June 10, 2022 with further information to come.
