Susan Joan van Millingen
July 1, 1955 - December 21, 2022
Former wife of deceased, David van Millingen and mother to Shane and Tommy van Millingen, Sue passed away at home in Calgary on the morning of December 21, 2022 at the age of 67.
She is survived by her two loving sons, Shane and Tommy van Millingen. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Debbie in Saskatoon, her sister and brother-in-law Gerrie and Charles in Toronto as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sue was predeceased by her loving husband, Dave van Millingen; mother, Joan and father, John Wigglesworth.
Susan grew up in Saskatoon with a loving family where she would later attend the University of Saskatchewan. After graduation she moved to Toronto where she would meet her husband, Dave at a Toronto Blue Jays game. Dave and Sue would later move to Calgary and raise two boys, Shane and Tommy. She loved skiing and went on many trips with the family and very special friends. She also loved gardening at a young age, and that passion stayed with her throughout her entire life. She and Dave built an incredible garden in the backyard that she maintained and cherished. She was an avid golfer always trying to improve her game, and volunteered with the Master Gardeners Association after retirement from the ERCB where she had a long career. Another passion of hers was knitting. She always had a project on the go and loved knitting for family and friends. Susan also curled and loved following the sport on TV cuddling with her dog and little bud, Zoey.
There are no plans in the immediate future for a service, but we will notify friends and family when a plan has been made.
