Obituary for Stella Bilan (Peepeetch)
Stella Bilan
February 22, 1944 (Broadview, SK) – May 16, 2021 (Calgary, AB)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Stella. She was predeceased by her loving husband Eli (2016) and her middle son Elroy (2019). She is survived by her children Dean, Steven, and Kim, grandson Shae, extended family, and friends.
In 1962 she married Eli and they resided on a farm east of Melville, SK. In October of 1969, Eli left for Calgary to look for work and Stella with all four children followed a month later. Calgary was home, except for two years, until the time of her passing.
Stella worked at the Greyhound in downtown Calgary, Blackfoot Truckstop and as a Counsellor at
Native Alcoholism Services. This year would have been her Celebration of 41 years sobriety.
Due to COVID restrictions a formal service will not be held. Please leave any memories and pictures you may have of Stella to share with her family and friends.
