We regret to announce the sudden passing of Shawn Patrick Finney on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.
Shawn was born on January 22, 1975 in 100 Mile House, BC but grew up in Williams Lake, BC. He attended Briercrest College and obtained his Bachelor of Education but ultimately found himself in Calgary, where he built a family of friends while working in the real estate industry.
Shawn always had a big heart and wanted to help out wherever he could - as a teenager he did missionary work in Brazil building an orphanage and volunteered his summers at Lake of the Trees Bible Camp. He loved all sports, whether it was playing, coaching or just watching.
Shawn's amazing sense of humor will never be forgotten, and he loved to make everyone laugh with his "Arnie" impersonation.
He is survived by his parents, Sandra and Cliff; his sister, Angie; his niece, Charlotte; nephew, Brodie; aunts, Shiela and Diane (Rob); his uncle, Paul as well as his cousins, Denis (Crystal), Hana, Mya, Bruce (Karla), Rebecca, Rachel, Melissa, Gina and Ashlyn.
Shawn was blessed with many great friends over the years and the family would like to express special gratitude towards all of those who were so helpful and supportive.
We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
