Obituary for Sharron Doreen Fix (Pole)

In Loving Memory of
Doreen (Sharron) Fix

Doreen passed away peacefully on the evening of September 29, 2020 surrounded by her family at the age of 79. Doreen is lovingly survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Trevor) Jackson; son, Brian (Tracy) Fix; grandchildren, Devon, Mackenzie, Kirsten and Sierra; sisters-in-law, Dallas Short and Dory Royer; brother-in- law, Doug Schram and many nieces and nephews and their families. Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Leola and Lawrence Pole; husband, Ron; sister, Connie Schram and brother, Kevin Pole.

Doreen loved spending time with her family, relatives and friends. Friends were always welcome and treated as part of the family. She enjoyed camping at Green Acres Campground, Pine Lake during the summer where she built long lasting relationships with friends she considered to be part of her “extended” family. She had a passion for traveling with family and friends which included visits to Orlando Disney World, California Disneyland, Las Vegas, Kona, Oahu, cruising the Mexican Riviera, Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean, Panama Canal, Hawaiian Islands and the Mediterranean, and several all-inclusive vacations to Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic and the Maya Riviera. Doreen loved music and dancing, she loved listening to Brian play the guitar and sing. She enjoyed baking and making bun dough, crafts such as knitting and cross-stitch. She liked campfires, brunches and potluck dinners, KFC and double lime Peters’ Drive-In milkshakes. She cherished and spoke lovingly and often of her grandchildren and was extremely proud of them. She was an adopted mom and grandma to many as well.

Doreen was one of a kind and will be fondly remembered with much love and admiration by her family, relatives and numerous friends. Doreen loved life, she put others needs ahead of her own, she chose to have a positive attitude and tried to always see the bright side of things. Her kindhearted and infectious smile lit up a room and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was always willing to listen, she made the good times even better and the tough times more bearable. She was a strong amazing and determined woman, a caring, encouraging and supportive mom and grandma. We are so grateful for our time spent with her and she has enriched our lives immensely. Doreen was dearly loved and she will remain a cherished part of our hearts forever. The days will never be the same without her.

Doreen’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to relatives, friends, and to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre Teams, Palliative Homecare and Agape Hospice personnel for all of the thoughtful expressions of kindness, love and support they gave to Doreen through her journey.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Doreen’s immediate family will be holding a private service. It was Doreen’s wish to have all of her family, relatives and friends gather, share stories, memories, laughs, and pictures. The date for a Celebration of Life will be determined sometime in the future when we can safely gather after COVID restrictions are lifted.

Donations in memory of Doreen can be made to Agape Hospice.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
