Severino “Sam” Mastromonaco

Sam Mastromonaco peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He will forever be missed by his family and friends. Sam was devoted to his family, and took great pride in helping them grow and flourish. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and spent endless hours mentoring, cuddling and coaching. He was always the first one on the dance floor and an entertaining golf partner for so many.
Sam was born in Campobasso, Italy on January 24, 1943, and moved to Canada when he was in grade school. He met his wife, Judith (Judie) in Montreal and later moved to Calgary with their family. He made a name for himself working in the construction industry, as well as the oil and gas service business later in his career.
He is survived by his wife, Judie whom he was married to for 57 years; his children, Fred (Lissa), Andrea (Arnold), Cassie (Marcus), and Tara (Kent); his grandchildren, Michaela Quinn, Cooper, Connor, Tess, Catalina, Cole, Sophia and Seve; brother, Giovanni (Nicole); as well as extended family. He will always be in our memories and forever in our hearts.
A private Celebration of Sam’s Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their gratitude to his friends and the compassionate nursing staff at the Foothills Hospital for their support.
