Obituary for Sarah Elizabeth Jorgensen (Burnell)

Jorgensen, Sarah Elizabeth

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah “Beth” Jorgensen (nee Burnell) on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Beth passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB, at the age of 93.

Beth leaves behinds her five children, Carol (George) Sylvestre, John Jorgensen, Dennis (Shyrl) Jorgensen, Ralph (Carol) Jorgensen and Patricia (Darcy) Golding, as well as numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her ‘dance partner’ and husband, Kris; her beloved daughter, Diana; and her precious grandson, Ryan; along with many other family members and friends.

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and her loving, servant-like heart. She was always putting others before herself. She was a hard-working, yet fun-loving woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beth always had faith in God and is now in the presence of her Saviour, Jesus Christ. She is no longer in pain. Her body will be in perfect health and she will once again be dancing like she has wanted to for years.

A private Funeral Service will be held in Beth’s honor on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Due to Covid restrictions, attendance will be by Invitation Only. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 12:00 Noon in Redvers, SK, where Beth will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Kris.

Beth was an active member of the Legion Auxiliary for years and Remembrance Day was of great importance to her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beth’s memory to a local Legion of your choice, lay a wreath at a local cenotaph or wear a poppy in her honor.

Mom, you will always be loved. We will miss you dearly, but we also rejoice with you that you are with others who have been waiting for you. And if we listen close enough, we will hear your laughter and imagine that smile as you spin around the dance floor of Heaven!
