Our beloved Santi has departed... this time he will not return, his soul has traveled a dream and he has set off to Heaven, o tour Celestial Father, on April 29, 2020. Santiago Viteri was born in Quito, Ecuador on October 25, 1975. He studied Commercial Engineering at the Catholic University of Quito, Ecuador. He earned his MBA from the University of Calgary, Canada.
A tireless worker he lived, studied, and worked in several countries and made his home in Calgary since 2004. There he shared 15 years of a happy marriage with his love, Martha Lucia Valdivieso and saw the birth and growth of their beloved children Mateo José and Maria Julia.
He was a caring and affectionate husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was in love with life and was a very brave person. His passion was to travel and share with his family the incredible journeys around the world. An extraordinary human-being who left us memories and moments of happiness. This is the essence of our beloved Santi.
The most admirable thing, which marked our lives, was the example he gave us on his deathbed; the adventurer, the active sportsman, who walked fast, and could do it all with his unwavering faith. He fought the harsh battle against cancer and lived his agony in peace, leaving us a testimony of love. Now we imagine him serene with his beautiful and warm smile, contemplating a universe of peace and eternal tranquility where the spirit of God is the force that governs his days, without time nor space... No pain.
We thank God for allowing us to share a piece of Santi. Santi has taken a part of us and left us a part of him. His wife Martha Lucia Valdivieso, son Mateo José and daughter Maria Julia Viteri, his parents Rodolfo Viteri and Luisa Sánchez, his brothers Rodolfo Jr., Juan Simón, Antonio and sister Dolores and their respective families, the Viteri-Sánchez Family (uncles and cousins and their families), his parents in-law José V. Valdivieso and Guadalupe Valdivieso, the entire Valdivieso-Valdivieso family, and his dear friends will miss him immensely.
We invite you to accompany us to the funeral mass, which will be celebrated for his eternal rest at St. Michael Catholic Comunity Church this Friday, May 29, 2020 at 11am, Calgary time, or 12pm Ecuador time. Due to COVID-19 the Mass will be transmitted online.

Nuestro amado Santi ha partido… Esta vez no volverá, su alma recorrió un sueño, y partió al Padre Celestial el 29 de abril, 2020. Santiago Viteri nació en Quito Ecuador el 25 de octubre de 1975. Estudio Ingeniería Comercial en la Universidad Católica de Quito - Ecuador. Obtuvo su MBA en la Universidad de Calgary - Canadá, donde ha mantenido su residencia desde el 2004.
Un trabajador incansable, vivió, estudio y trabajo en varios países, e hizo su hogar en Calgary. Allí compartió 15 años de un matrimonio feliz con su amor Martha Lucia Valdivieso, y vio nacer y crecer a sus adorados hijos Mateo José y Maria Julia.
Fue un esposo, padre, hijo, hermano y amigo amoroso y cariñoso. Fue un enamorado de la vida y un ser muy valiente. Amaba viajar y compartir con su familia las travesías increíbles por el mundo. Un ser humano extraordinario que nos deja recuerdos y momentos de felicidad. Esta es la esencia de nuestro amado Santi.
Lo más admirable, que marcó nuestras vidas, fue el ejemplo que nos dio en su lecho de muerte; el aventurero, el deportista activo, que caminaba rápido, y todo lo podía con su fe inquebrantable, luchó la dura batalla contra el cáncer y vivió su agonía en paz, dejándonos un testimonio de amor. Ahora lo imaginamos sereno con su hermosa y cálida sonrisa, contemplando un universo de paz y eterna tranquilidad donde el espíritu de Dios es la fuerza que rige sus días, sin tiempo, ni espacio… Sin dolor.
Agradecemos a Dios, por permitirnos compartir un pedacito de Santi. Santi se ha llevado una parte de nosotros y dejó en nosotros una parte de él. Su esposa Martha Lucia Valdivieso, sus hijos Mateo José y Maria Julia Viteri, sus padres Rodolfo Viteri y Luisa Sánchez, sus hermanos Rodolfo Jr., Juan Simón, Antonio y Dolores y sus respectivas familias, la familia Viteri-Sánchez (tíos y primos y sus familias), sus suegros José V. Valdivieso y Guadalupe Valdivieso, y toda la familia Valdivieso-Valdivieso, y sus queridos amigos, lo extrañaremos inmensamente
