Sandra Robertson
October 26th, 1977 - May 20th, 2019
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Sandra Robertson on Monday, May 20th, 2019 at the age of 41.
Sandra was born in Brooks, Alberta three months early on October 26, 1977 to her parents Brian and Cheryl Robertson. She was so small that her grandfather called her ‘tiny mite’. Later in December, she was able to come home for Christmas. Still very small, Sandra fit into a stocking and her sister, Heather, thought that Sandra was her dolly.
She grew up and met her friends Fiona Boyd Barnett and Jennifer Hill (now Turner) in school. Fiona and Sandra stayed close as sisters while Sandra and Jennifer’s families became inseparable. Jen’s parents, Maurice and Sylvia, were like second parents to Sandra and they helped her grow in her faith.
Through her faith she met many brothers and sisters in Jesus, some of which were as close as family. She went on several mission trips to build houses and was always willing to discuss her faith. No matter how simple or complex the theology, Sandra would talk about it all and always say that she couldn’t wait to have all of her questions answered.
Sandra loved to bake and cook. Whether there was a party or not, she would lovingly share something she made. She also loved sci-fi, superheroes and always talked about her trip to Italy.
Over the last decade Sandra worked for a few funeral homes and touched the lives of many co-workers. Most people remember her dedication to the families and her ‘small fist shake’ when she became annoyed with something. Sandra was a valued administrator at Choice Memorial and will be missed by her entire Choice Family.
Sandra will be forever loved and remembered by her father Brian Robertson; sisters Kerry (Doug) Hill and Heather Robertson; cherished nieces Grace and Elizabeth Hill; dear friends Maurice and Sylvia Hill; aunts, uncles, many other extended family members and her beloved dog Gypsy, who would go to work with her every day. Sandra was predeceased by her mother Cheryl Robertson; grandparents Jack and Jeanne Robertson and Harold and Loretta Greenwood.
Her final words to everyone are:
"I know where I have gone, but do you know where you are going?".
Repent and trust in the Saviour.
Sandra will be laid to rest in Okotoks Cemetery. A Celebration of her life will be held at Okotoks Evangelical Free Church (28 Westland Road, Okotoks, AB) on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 am.
