Obituary for Samuel Joseph Thangarajah
On Thursday, October 8th, 2020 Samuel Joseph Thangarajah suddenly and quietly passed away at the age of 67 having lived a full and happy life, after a short battle with diabetes and an ailing heart condition.
He will be missed dearly by friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents Edward Thangarajah and Florence Thangarajah, and his adored niece Mary Thangarajah.
He is survived by his beloved wife Vimaladevi Thangarajah; 2 children Sylvia Gill and Joseph Thangarajah; 1 grandson Arian Gill; 3 sisters Angelina, Eucharista, and Theresa; 1 brother Jude; 6 nephews Anthony, Steve, Eric, Gavin, Patrick, and Thomas; 6 nieces Angela, Ann, Erica, Eureka, Maria, and Maryanne; 1 grandnephew Xavier; and 1 grandniece Avianna.
His life started in Sri Lanka upon his birth on September 9, 1953. Soon after, his family made a move to Thailand where the family solidified its legacy in business and sports. Completing his graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering he started as an engineer in Saudi Arabia, then went to work with his father at the Bangkok post as a Chief Designer. He brought his family to Canada to seek a new life and challenges, where his passion in the auto industry came to life. He had many passions first and foremost his love for cars, he was an avid food enthusiast, and an excellent sportsman. His love for cricket rendered him a huge fan, and with his talent he relished the opportunity to have played with many professional players.
Samuel was full of light and laughter. When he spoke he captivated those around him, his stories leaving everyone breathless from laughter. He touched everyone with his presence, a man to never be forgotten. He was a devoted Catholic, and a Man of God. Though he has left many behind, his memories and light will never be forgotten.
