March 25th, 1936 - Thursday, May 9th, 2019
The family and friends of Rupert "Darkie" Inniss announce with great sadness his passing on Thursday, May 9th, 2019 at Bethany Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta.
Rupert was predeceased by his mother Gladys Silverton, father Danny Inniss, wife Kay Inniss, brother Andrew, and sisters Julie, Josephine, and Elaine. He is survived by his sister Yvonne (Beda).
Rupert was the father of two, the grandfather of four, and the great grandfather of three. He was the uncle of Cynthia, Theo, Erwin, Cleo, Alison, Horace, Kathleen, Ann, Annmarie, and many others.
Rupert was born in the beautiful twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1970 before making Calgary his permanent home in 1977. He worked as a welder with Geco Steel and Three Star Steel prior to his retirement in 2000. Rupert leaves behind a loving family and lots of great friends in Calgary who became his second family. He will be missed and forever in our thoughts.
