Obituary for Ronald Dale McCann

McCann, Ronald Dale
October 28, 1952 – January 7, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald McCann announces his passing on January 7 at the age of 68. We will miss him dearly, but after his recent years of health challenges and pain we are thankful that he will no longer spend his days suffering.

He is survived by his daughters, Melody, Denise (Craig) Dyck; grandson, Tyrelle; brother, Patrick (Lana); sisters, Maureen and Judy (Randy) and numerous other family and friends. Ron was predeceased by his mother, Edith McCann and his father, Ronald (Doc) McCann.

He was a co-owner of McCann’s Building Movers along with other family members and worked for over 50 years retiring in 2017 due to health issues.

As a child, Ron was introduced to Hockey Night in Canada by his parents and became a huge fan supporting the Calgary Flames. He also supported the Calgary Stampeders attending as many games as possible.

Ron was an avid reader and was interested in history, especially military history. He loved a good debate, visiting with family and friends and spoiling his pugs Eddy and Roxy.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Due to COVID A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the Peter Lougheed Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion.
