Obituary for Mr. Rolando A. Hapin
November 27th, 1940 - Friday, April 17th, 2020
Rolando A. Hapin, 79 years old, passed away on April 17, 2020. Rolando struggled with a traumatic brain injury for two and a half months and eventually succumbed to (multiple pneumonia) respiratory failure in Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Rolando was born in Bulan, Sorsogon, Philippines on November 27, 1940. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Hapin; granddaughter, Hyacinth Wourms; siblings, Victorio Hapin Jr., Violeta H. Manuel & Fernando Hapin & nephews and nieces. Rolando was pre-deceased by his mother & father, Anacleta Atanante Hapin and Victorio Hapin Sr; siblings, Josefina Hapin & Robina H. Gibaga.
Rolando was a kind, quiet and hardworking man. He sacrificed many things in order to help his family since he was a young man, providing in order to help educate his younger siblings. Rolando had a generous heart towards his family and loved them as the big brother that he was.
Rolando was a patient, loving, protective & kind father to his daughter and granddaughter. He doted on his only daughter and granddaughter, always concerned of their well-being even during his hospital stay.
Rolando was very independent and was quite healthy prior to his hospital stay. Rolando worked hard in Philippines for many years prior to moving to Canada to join his daughter. He worked extremely hard in Canada as well and enjoyed his retirement years.
There won’t be a funeral due to the current situation. Rolando’s remains will be cremated at Choice Memorial Funeral Services 105-4715 13th Street NE, Calgary, AB T2E 6M3.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the future. The date still to be determined.
