1931 – 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Rodi Luigi DelDegan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Rodi passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the age of 89 years with his loving wife and daughter at his side.
Rodi was born in Flaibno, Provincia di Udine, Italy in 1931. He immigrated to Canada in 1950, settling in British Columbia. It was in Natal, BC that he met the love of his life, Maria. They married June 5, 1954 and started a family.
In 1965, Rodi and his family moved to Calgary and settled in Bridgeland, where he lived a long-blessed life, and peacefully passed into the loving arms of Jesus.
Rodi loved his garden and his animals, but mostly, he loved his family. His wife, Maria was his partner, his soulmate and his heart; his daughters and grandsons were his universe. Nothing made him happier than to be with his family and he will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him.
Rodi is survived by his loving wife, Maria; his daughters, Mirella and Aldina (Mike); his grandsons, Reno (Joyce) and Danny; his sisters, Savina and Licia (Rino); his brothers, Alido (Erika), Ennio (Josephine); his many brothers and sisters-in-law, and his numerous nieces and nephews.
