Obituary for Robert Donald Simper
Robert Donald Simper (Bob) passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the age of 92. Bob was an inspiration to many which was a reflection of his love and Christian faith in Jesus.
Bob was born in Calgary, Alberta on March 22, 1930 to William and Willian Simper (Illchuk). He met the love of his life, Catherine O’Donnell in Calgary where they were married and have been lifelong partners for 73 years.
His family have so many special memories of sharing his life through his love of the outdoors with fishing, hunting, skiing and golfing along with his passion for music and his soulful involvement in the church with the band, gospel groups and musicals.
He affected all who had met him with his positive outlook on life. He made friends far and wide with his genuine interest in the people he met who in turn so loved Bob.
Bob will be loving remembered by his wife, Catherine Simper; children, Ted (Pam), Cathy, and Rob; grandchildren, Shaun, Jennifer (Gavin), Kiel, and Megan (Taylor); great granddaughter, Julia; and sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Karen Pedersen. Bob was also predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Heal and brother, Tom.
In Celebration of Bob’s Life, a Service will be conducted on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Salvation Army Glenmore Temple (921 – 68th Avenue SW). To link to the virtual service live-stream, please go to Facebook (Salvation Army Glenmore Temple) or YouTube (Glenmore Live).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Salvation Army Centre of Hope.
