Band, Robert “Bob” Douglas
September 27, 1946 – June 14, 2019
Robert “Bob” Band passed away peacefully in Calgary at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the age of 72 years. He will be forever remembered by Lorraine Paul, the love of his life; her daughter, Shelly Paul (Ken Fraser); and by his daughter, Etheline Curtis; his three grandchildren, Robert & Riley Curtis and Ashley Yaacob; his siblings, Sharon Young (Don), Joan Abel (Mike) and Jim (Ginelle) Band; brother-in-law, Graham Holt, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was predeceased by his mother, Irene; father, Peter, brother, John “Jackie” and by sister, Lois.
Bob was an employee of the CP Railway for many years. He loved going to the Legion to have his beer and play his Nevada pull tabs and sitting with friends.
At Bob’s request, no formal service will be held but we will have a Celebration of Bob’s Life at the Jubilee Legion, Branch #286 (#5, 1107 – 33 Street NE, Calgary) on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Jubilee Legion, Branch #286, #5, 1107 – 33 Street NE, Calgary, AB, T2A 6T2 or to the Forest Lawn Legion, Branch #275, 755 – 40 Street SE, Calgary, AB, T2A 5G3.
