Obituary

Paul, Richard (Rick) Francis

With great sadness the family of Richard (Rick) Francis Paul announces his unexpected passing on
Saturday, May 9, 2020 at the age of 59 years.

Rick was born on February 22, 1961 and grew up in Badger, NFLD. He moved to Calgary in the late 70s
and found a successful career in the energy sector. Rick was clever, with a quick wit and a smart mouth.
He enjoyed making people laugh with his teasing nature and pranks. Rick loved motorcycles, Costco,
cross-country road trips, hockey, hiking and fries with dressing and gravy. He loved spending time
visiting with family and friends and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Rick will be lovingly remembered and missed by his two daughters, Renee (James) and Danielle (Scott); four grandchildren, Jude, Eleanor, Simon and George; sister, Madonna (Rex); sister, Leona (Leo); brother, Larry (Heather); nieces; nephews; the mother of his children, Debbie Guy and many
other family members and friends. Rick was predeceased by his father, Leo Lawrence Paul and his beloved mother, Ursula Mary Paul.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. To view and share photos, condolences and stories of Rick, please visit www.choicememorial.com.

My heart was sadden over the loss of Rick and I wanted to send my warmest condolences to the family. To lose someone so loved, a parent, a part of you, can bring such overwhelming grief but the God of all comfort tells us at 2 Kings 20:5 he feels our pain. At jw.org we can read John 5:28, 29 that you will have him in your life once again. May all the memories you have give you calm and peace to help you through until God’s promises come true. Again so very sorry for your heartache.🌻

I have to say so long to a friend that I have known for over 30 years. I worked with Richard in 2 different companies in Calgary, Ab. Canada. We had a personal friendship for a long time.I feel that his 2 daughters Renee and Danielle will have a void in their hearts forever, and for their Mom Debbie Guy who is my close friend is feeling so much sadness. We will all miss you Richard.

My heart hurts with you, Renee and Danielle, and offer Darren and my condolences on the loss of your Dad. Rick was one who instantly made me feel comfortable. I loved his sense of humor, his little grin, and his love of his girls . He will be missed.

I am friends with Rick’s daughters Renee & Danielle and Rick was a great man! He was always teasing us and pulling pranks. My most memorable time with Rick was when we set fireworks and almost set a hill on fire that overlooked Calgary! Rest In Peace Rick and I’m sure I will see you again one day!! Renee and Danielle, I am thinking of you girls

I will never forget the great summer we had this past year. We shared many laughs and had some great times together. I am heartbroken that you are gone but find comfort in knowing that you are now with the best. Fly high with the angels. I will miss you dearly. Go Rest High on that Mountain. 💞
