Obituary for Richard John "Chuck" Kohl

Beloved husband of Kim Halvorson, Richard “Chuck” Kohl passed away in Calgary, AB doing what loved on December 4, 2022.

His story started in a small town; Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on February 6, 1955 where he remained until his teenage years. Chuck then moved to Calgary to begin a new chapter, where he would remain for the rest of his life. Shortly after he became a loving father to three wonderful children: Jennifer (Patrick), Jessica (Tyson), Joshua (Rachel), all of Calgary, AB. Throughout his life he was a dedicated worker, who was devoted to caring for his family, and was always available to lend a helping hand. He was a man who would always share his knowledge, after all, “Papa Chuck could fix anything”. In early 2005 he became part of a blended family where he gained 2 more beautiful daughters Courtney (Given) of Victoria, BC and Shelby (Sam) of Calgary, AB. He loved spending his time with his wife, especially playing crib together. He enjoyed camping, fishing, collecting and enjoying a nice cold beer. He later became a Papa (grandpa), and leaves behind his grandchildren, who were his world; Aiden, Averie, Logan, Hamid and Moodi. As well as many nieces, nephews and extended family, friends that became family, and beloved pets along the way. His passing has left us with a tremendous void in all of our lives, and the memories of him will live on forever in our hearts and thoughts.

The family asks that any donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation be made in his memory.
