Obituary for Richard Llewellyn "Rick" Couch

Couch, Richard (Rick)
June 23, 1950 – July 30, 2020

Richard (Rick) Couch never gave up, but his body finally did. After a long struggle with cancer and related health problems, he passed away quietly, free of pain, on July 30th. A sports fan through and through, he especially loved the Bruins, Flames, and Stamps. A long-time season ticket holder, he enjoyed talking with other fans, and being the host at tailgating events. He was a huge fan of Frank Sinatra, the classic groups of the 50s and 60s (The Spinners, The Four Seasons), Earth, Wind and Fire, Alicia Bridges, A Taste of Honey, The Doobie Brothers, and Michael Jackson. A golfer, a drummer, DJ, a fast car driver, he never lost his zest for life. He was deeply grateful for the excellent care he received at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Foothills Hospital. He was thankful for the many friends and neighbours who watched out for him. Heartfelt thanks to Ryan and family for their years of friendship and extraordinary kindness. Brother to Murray (Rose), and Tracy. Uncle to Alannah and Robyn. Predeceased by his loving parents, Edna and Stan. No service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please give a listen to some of Rick's musical favourites, or consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Foothills Hospital, or charity of your choice.
