Philip Norman Aube
June 27, 1942 – November 5, 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Phil Aube at the age of 78. Phil is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years June, his son Jim Brooks and daughters Bonnie Lawrence (husband Glen) and Linda Simpson (husband Neil). He also has 7 loving grandchildren: Jimmy, Jason, Leya, Brad, Grant, Lauren and Mitchell, along with 2 great grandchildren Oliver and Leo. His brother Rick Aube and sister Janice Holroyd, along with nieces, nephews and dearest friends, will also fondly remember him.
Phil was born in Toronto Ontario and moved to Calgary Alberta in 1971. The family moved to Okotoks Alberta in 1978 where they spent many happy years.
Phil spent most of his career in the record/music industry and was an avid sports and music fan. His hobbies included collecting sports memorabilia, talking about old songs and regaling stories of his youth to his kids and grandkids. Phil was an avid Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. Phil enjoyed rock and roll music, laughter and time with family and friends.
Phil was best known for his easy- going nature and tremendous sense of humor, which brought laughter and fun to all of his family gatherings.
The family would like to thank the medical staff in the Cardiac ICU at the South Health and Foothills hospitals for their excellent care and compassion.
There will be no funeral at Phil’s request; the family will have a celebration of life gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Phil may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) in appreciation of their Volunteer Driver Program.
