Obituary for Peter Barry Robinson

Peter Barry Robinson
March 15th, 1949-April 26, 2023

Peter Robinson, beloved husband of Judy Robinson, passed away on April 26th, 2023, at the age of 74 years.

Peter was born and raised in Calgary, AB, to Peter and Muriel Robinson. He was the middle child of three children. He attended Queen Elizabeth School grades 1 through 12 and received his high school diploma. He met his wife Judy, at the prime age of 13. It was love at first sight. They went on to be married May 25, 1968. They settled in the Forest Lawn Area where he became a devoted father to Bry-anne (Mark) and Jason (Heather). Peter worked at Canadian Linen Supply and was with the company for 48 years. He started as a driver and worked his way up to become a top sales manager. He would often try and sell his wife linen while he slept. Peter and his wife would frequently travel as a result of the company bonuses he received. They looked forward to these trips around the world. He went on to retire in 2017. Peter was also a dedicated volunteer to the Forest Lawn Community and was president for 8 years. He ran an exclusive hockey pool for 42 years and an NFL pool for 25 years. Peter enjoyed playing and watching hockey and went on to coach sports for 10 years. He also coached ladies’ ball for 3 years. Many of his previous players still call him Coach to this day. You could often find Peter playing 8-ball pool, slow pitch, or golfing whenever he could. He especially valued spending time with his family and was later blessed with five grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up and see all their accomplishments. He had an endearing nickname for all of them. Peter was ecstatic when the family was recently blessed with a great-grandchild who he loved dearly.

Besides his loving wife Judy, Peter is survived by his children Bry-anne (Mark) Blomer, and Jason (Heather) Robinson; sister Carol (Charlie) Bernhardt; grandchildren Chayse (Kourtney), Ashley (Chase), Aryka (Mason), Megan (Haseeb) and Holly; great-grandchild Isaiah “Izzy”; as well as many family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Peter (1954) and Muriel (1998); and sister Marilyn Hayden (2018).

Thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the South Health Campus for their care and compassion during Peters stay.

A celebration of Peters life will be held on Friday, May 5th, 2023, at Habebe's Banquet Hall (2611 37 Ave NE #1, Calgary, AB) at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation
