Penny Lynn Girard
September 30, 1957 - July 26, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Penny Lynn Girard on July 26, 2020 at the age of 62. With her beloved cowboy by her side, Penny peacefully joined her mother Marvel Froiland (2007), her brothers David Kelley (1972) and Tommy Kelley (2004) and her brother-in-law Tom Wager (2018) to fly with the angels.
Penny was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, where she raised her son Brett and proudly worked as an accounting clerk for Boeing and as a church secretary. Love brought her north to Calgary in 2003 and Penny came to hold dual Canadian and US citizenship. While she missed her family in Seattle, Penny joined Mike as part of Calgary's karaoke community and formed deep friendships with many.
Left to mourn Penny's ready smile and hugs are her husband Mike Girard, son Brett (Jennifer) Howarth, grandsons Brendan, Wyatt and Owen Howarth, sisters Susie Kelley-Gonzales (Bob) and Karen Wagner, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her karaoke "family".
