Obituary for Pamela May (Gordon)

Pamela May
1942-2020

It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Pamela May (nee Gordon), announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the age of 77 years.

Pam was born, the only daughter of John and Wilhelmina Gordon on April 29, 1942. She was the baby sister and joined brothers, Freddie, Jackie and Ronnie. She went to school and grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland where she remained until she met the man who would become her husband, Ed May. They married and had two daughters, Karen and Linda, before deciding to come to Canada for a better life. Upon arriving in Winnipeg, Manitoba, they had their final child, daughter Michelle.

Pam and Ed raised their family and built their lives in Winnipeg. When the opportunity came to transfer to Calgary, they couldn't resist. They settled in Calgary, making that Pam's final home for many years. She worked in retail at the TransCanada K-Mart until she could take early retirement to spend her time with Ed.

She will forever be known for her infamous campfire sausages at Otter Falls park, her mini meatballs and the best Cool Whip filled birthday cake in the world!! She loved to knit, read, camp, do jigsaw puzzles, play cards and dance. Much to dad's dismay, she also loved to shop. She especially loved going with Michelle to get her sparkly, fancy nails done. We will all miss her dreadfully.

She will be missed and forever remembered by the love of her life and partner for the past 57 years, her husband, Ed; son, Steve (Krys); daughters, Karen (Bill), Linda (Mike) and Michelle (Kevin); grandchildren, Carly, Lucie, Phil (Nichole), Dara (Tyler), Tova (Josh), Kien (Shantelle), Stephen, Cat, Brekkyn and Kingstyn; and great grandchildren, Isabelle, Carson, Mila, Grayson, Ryah, Alysha, Kiara, Trevan, Teagan, Harlow and Kaysen as well as extended family both here and abroad.

In keeping with Pam's wishes, no Formal Service will be held. The family graciously ask that you please do not send flowers, however, stop in at your favorite pub or watering hole and raise a glass in Pam's memory.
