Onofre 'Ramon' Rafal, beloved husband of Eufemia Buluag of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the age of 59 years.

He was the loving father of Rachel Joy Gamos and his son-in-law Ed Gamos, as well as the loving father of Sherie Lynn Rafal, who all reside in Calgary. Beside his children, Ramon will be remembered by his loving wife, Eufemia Catalon Buluag; his grandchildren; great grandchildren; great, great grandchildren; sisters, Fredesvinda (Reming) Peralta, Telma (Emma) Rafal and Wilma (Marissa) Fernandez; brothers, Rogelio (Roger) Rafal and adopted brother, Froilan Adams (Angel) Rafal as well as nieces and nephews

Onofre, or Ramon as he is known better by his family, was born in Alcala, Pangasinan Philippines and got married on June 9, 1990. He grew up as the second youngest child and was raised by Cristina Carganilla and Jose Rafal. In order to have a better life, Eufemia moved to Canada in 1988 and Ramon joined her in 1991 and raised their two daughters in Montreal, Quebec and all moved to Calgary, Alberta in 2008.

He was a wonderful school bus driver, working for Southland Transportation since September 15th, 2014. He loved his job, his colleagues, as well as the children he drove safely between school and home every school day. He loved to listen to the radio, watch TV and action movies. When the snow melted, he loved to garden and plant some flowers for the family to see. He also loved to barbecue, and to make memories with the family. He also enjoyed cooking and making everyone smile and laugh, whether it was a silly joke or just acting goofy. With any chance he got, he loved to record videos and take pictures of and with his family. He would always think about others and tend to their needs, even if it’s a little difficult to do, he will find a way.

He loved his family and friends and believed there is good in everyone he met. Everyone who knew him loves him and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends forever.
