Obituary for Odete Conceicao Hunter (Duque)
Odete Hunter (nee Duque)
December 12, 1954- November 17, 2019
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Odete at the age of 64, with her family by her side. She has now rejoined her mother, Maria; father, Joaquim; extended families; as well as her loving father-in-law, Norm Hunter in spirit.
Odete was born in Sobral da Lagoa, Obidos, Portugal and at the age of 4 years, along with her family, moved to Canada and resided in Calgary. In 1979, Odete married the love of her life, Randy. In 1986, their son, Jordan was born. During her life, Odete’s loving and open personality attracted many friends and acquaintances, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Odete is survived by her loving husband, Randy; her dear precious son, Jordan (Marta); sisters, Maria (David), Luisa, Sofia (Peter); brothers, Antonio (Aurora), Joaquim (Amelia), Jose (Wendy) and Carlos (Donna Mae); her loving mother-in- law, Eva Hunter and extended families (Hunter and Sinclair); uncles, Vince and Americo, and her aunts, Liz, Maria and Mary. Odete is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Odete will forever be remembered in our hearts and memories. At Odete’s request there will be no funeral. The family wishes to thank the EMS, Calgary Fire Dept., and the medical personnel at the Foothills Hospital for their valiant efforts.
