Obituary for Michael Ryan Alexander Sharlow
Michael Sharlow, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend unexpectedly passed away at the young age of 26 on January 4, 2023. He was born to Lauree Collinge and James (Jim) Sharlow in Calgary, Alberta on March 18, 1996. From a young age, Michael always had a heart of gold and an amazing zest for life, his smile and contagious laugh could fill a room with happiness. He always lived his life as a free spirit beating to the sound of his own drum never letting anyone stand in his way.
Right up until the end of his life Michael’s family and friends were always at the centre of his heart and he always thought of them even in the smallest ways. One of his favourite things to do was surprise his loved ones with trinkets that made him think of them. As of late his greatest joy was his nephew Grayson, whom he shared a special bond with.
He will be greatly missed by his mother, Lauree Collinge (Jerry); sisters, Anastasia, Kelsey and Lisa (Chris); brother, Jeremy (Brianna); and his nephews, Logan, Hayden, Brenden, and Grayson. He will also be dearly missed by his uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends that he considered his family. He is now a bright star in the sky among his father, James (Jim) Sharlow; his grandmother, Myrna Collinge; his stepbrother, Jonathan Handziuk; and his paternal grandparents.
A private family Visitation has been organized by invite only. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at a later date in March, details regarding this will be released once the family has finalized it.
