Maxine Lenora Bishop
Maxine passed away in her sleep at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the age of 97.
Maxine had a rich and full life, but her greatest accomplishment was her family. She was most proud of her sons, Larry (predeceased her in January 2022) and Randy; five grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Stacy, Kelly and Jesse; and her beloved great grandchildren, Joshua, Hudson, AJ and Brook.
Maxine grew up in Salmo, BC and moved to Banff, AB in 1948, where her parents ran a guest house. Maxine met the love of her life, Ken Bishop in 1951 and they moved to Calgary. After Ken’s passing, Maxine continued to teach for 29 years, and retired at the age of 65. At this point, she took up her passion for golf. She was an all-around athlete and loved most sports.
The family would like to thank the Foothills Hospital, Unit 72 and Dr. Lazarvic for taking such good care of Maxine. A special Thank-You to the staff and her friends at the Scenic Grande, where she resided the last few years.
A Memorial Tea will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at The Scenic Grande (8720 Scurfield Dr. NW, Calgary, AB) from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. No flowers please.
