It is with great sadness that Mary Jean Ruby (nee Lavergne), age 66 passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta. She was born May 16, 1953 in Kenora, Ontario as the youngest of 13 siblings to John Lavergne and Bertha Caron. She had two boys, Mark Ruby and Gordon Ruby with David Ruby, all who will survive her.
Her grandson, Andrew Ruby, 9, was her world and they had a bond like no other. She was a proud grandmother and when everything else was at a loss, he brought her joy.
She was a server for many years, but not only did she bring sunshine to everyone’s day, she also loved people and conversing with her regulars.
She graduated from Norquest as a certified Healthcare Aide years later and worked at Clifton Manor in Calgary, AB where she lived happily for many years. Always helping others.
Mary was cremated on June 6, 2019 at Choice Memorial Cremation and Funeral Services. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at a later date and will be announced to family and friends. Please feel free to share the news of this wonderful woman’s passing with acquaintances.
